Sun Hats

Sun Hats

Do you have a go-to summer hat for those bright, sunny days ahead? Wearing a wide-brimmed hat outdoors is of course, a great way to protect your hair, eyes and skin from the sun's ultraviolet (UV) rays. It can also be the crowning glory (forgive the pun) of any outfit.

Straw hats were made for summer; they're light-weight and breathable. You can change the feel of your straw hat by adding a colourful scarf.

Fedoras, originally worn by men, have become much more popular for women in the last few years. They add a touch of elegance to any outfit. The angular design balances round face shapes.

Think about your scale, if you are tall, try a wide brim, but avoid smaller versions, which will look out of proportion with the rest of your body. If you are shorter in height, you will benefit from a brim that is narrower than your shoulders.

Finally, consider the colour of your hat. As it is right next to your face, it's important to wear a complementary shade. You may want to avoid deeper colours, particularly black, which absorbs heat and cast unflattering shadows across your face.
